| Rank System General Information The criteria for the ranking will be separated into different parts: * Skills * Team playing * Involvement * Behavior You can gain points for each criteria. The sum of all criteria will result into your total points. All ranks have a minimum value of points. You will have the highest rank that has a less or equal value as your points. So if you have less skills, you will be able to compensate with teamplay and still be able to get Promoted. The 'behavior' criteria differs from the others, because this one will not be awarded with positive points, but negative ones. You will start with 0 points on this criteria. When you misbehave, the points for ‘behavior’ will be decreased, resulting in less total points, thus a lower rank. When the behavior penalty gets too low, you will automatically be put on probation or into prison. The 'involvement' criteria is divided in two parts: 1. The first is rewarded manually by the council/clan leaders. 2. The second will be automatically be calculated by the site and depends on your involvement on the site. a. For example, the number of visits, posts, chats, comments, etc will give you a positive score. b. Not visiting for a week will result into a (negative) penalty score. The longer you don't visit, the higher this penalty will become. "Skill" bonus points are "Recommended" by =VG= Members based on Player skill, use of weapons, tactics, knowledge of maps and overall game play. Points for skills can be increased: * In case a =VG= Member witnessed your skills during game play * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 1 Officer * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 2 NonComms * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 4 soldiers (or 2 soldiers and 1 NonComm) A Member is, of course, always able to join a game to witness themselves in case of recommendations from less people as mentioned above. You can also ask a Member yourself, to join your game and criticize your game play. False recommendations (for example: recommend 4 other members and get recommended yourself by the same 4, just to increase your points) may lead to decreasing your ‘behavior’ points instead. "Teamplay" bonus points are "Recommended" by =VG= Members and granted to players that stick with their team, provide team support, cooperative effort and have the ability to follow orders from their Squad Leader. (This doesn't always mean leading the team, in points. It means HELPING THEM SURVIVE!) Examples of team playing are: * Supporting other team-members in a special way. For example: you don’t get kills/game-points yourself, but others do because of your support. Watching the map and direct team-members after you died, fixing vehicles or healing team-members, etc... * Teaching other clan members special skills, or skills they don't know yet. Teaching how to use weapons, giving tips to increase skills, showing map locations of great tactical importance, showing map locations used a lot by enemies to hide and ambush, helping others gain game ranks or medals. How to increase these points - Points for team playing can be increased: * In case a =VG= Member witnessed one or more of above examples (or other ‘team player’ arguments) * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 1 Officer * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 2 NonComms * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 4 soldiers (or 2 soldiers and 1 NonComm) A Member is, of course, always able to join a game to witness themselves in case of recommendations from less people as mentioned above. You can also ask an Officer or Member yourself, to join your game and criticize your game play. False recommendations (for example: recommend 4 other members and get recommended yourself by the same 4, just to increase your points) may lead to decreasing your behavior points instead. How to decrease points: Points given for team playing will usually not been taken away. For example, once you have taught all your skills to other members, there’s nothing to teach anymore and you did a great job. It won’t be fare to take those points away after you stop teaching (because there’s nothing more to teach). However points can be decreased in case of: * Team-killing * Extreme solo-play in a negative way * Too much camping "Involvement" bonus points are awarded to individuals who are active, contributing members to the site via their posts, uploads, and other content development. Individuals are also evaluated on Clan involvement, time spent in our servers and getting to know our members. To be awarded the Involvement Bonus, an individual will only be considered if they were Recommended by an Active Duty =VG= Member. Examples of involvement are: * Sincere interest in other clan members * Sincere interest in the clan * Promoting the clan positively to others outside the clan * Defend the clan when others insult it * Frequent visits to our website * Just visiting to keep updated on the latest things, is being involved. * Frequently posting in the forums or chat box (useful posts, so without spamming it) is more involvement. How to increase points - Points for involvement can be increased: * In case a =VG= Member witnessed one or more of above examples (or other ‘involvement’-arguments) * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 1 Officer * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 2 NonComms * After a recommendation (with arguments) by a at least 4 soldiers (or 2 soldiers and 1 NonComm) False recommendations (for example: recommend 4 other members and get recommended yourself by the same 4, just to increase your points) may lead to decreasing your behavior points instead. How to decrease points - Points can be decreased in case: * We don’t hear or see you for a longer period, without a good reason. In case your really are not able to be here for a longer period for a special reason (can be anything, explain it to a Member they will decide how good it is), we will keep it in mind. Also when you already lost points and you weren’t able to inform us prior (again, explain it to a Member and they will decide), you may be restated to the amount of points you had prior. The 'Site Involvement' will automatically be calculated by the system and will be based on your involvement regarding the website: * Your number of visits * Your number of forum posts * Your number of chats * Your comment posts The 'Site Penalty' will also be calculated automatically. When you don't visit the site for longer than a week, you will start building up this penalty value. The longer you won't visit, the higher this value will become. In case you have a penalty value and visit the site again, the penalty won't be increased for a week. Starting from the second day you visit, the penalty will decrease 1 point each day you visit. The 'Site Penalty' will also be calculated automatically. The total Site Involvement score will be decreased with a penalty score for not visiting the site: The penalty will be -5 points for each 7 days not visited, with a maximum of -40 points. In case a penalty has been given and the user visits the site again, the penalty will decrease with 1 point on each day the user visit. This until the penalty will be 0 again, or the user hasn’t visited again for 7 days. In case the user hasn’t visited again for 7 days, the penalty will be increased again with 5 points each 7 days, starting from the current value. Notice: The penalty system may be 'frozen' per individual user, which means the penalty will remain on the current level, regardless the visits by the user (for example: in case a user notifies you about absence with a good reason, or in times of holidays) This criteria works the opposite way as the others. Each member starts with 0 points, which is also the maximum value. Instead of positive points, this one will give you negative ones. Reasons to decrease points for behavior are: * Team-killing - This may actually cost you a lot of points, but has been separated into these parts: * Team-killing by accident: No points * Team-killing by accident, but ‘you should have known better’: few points for example: aiming a rocket at a bad-guy, but it was obvious that a team-member was standing next to him * Team-killing on purpose: A lot of points, possibly straight to ‘prison’, or even being kicked out of the clan * Harassment of other people * Disobeying our Server Rules (Posted in the Forum) * Spamming our mail addresses or website (forum, chatbox, PM), and any hack-attempts (succeeded or not) on one of our servers * Article 123 (Any reason we see fit) How to decrease points: * In case a =VG= Member witnessed one or more of above examples (or other ‘misbehavior’-arguments) * After a complaint (with arguments) by a at least 1 Officer * After a complaint (with arguments) by a at least 1 NonComms * After a complaint (with arguments) by a at least 2 soldiers * After a complaint by at least 4 non-clan members. 30 Day Rule: If we get complaints by players of you misbehaving, and a couple of weeks later we get another, it makes 2 complaints in 30 days and it will cost you points. Notice: Single complaints will be considered depending on the violation! An Officer or Member is, of course, always able to join a game to witness themselves in case of complaints from less people as mentioned above. You can also ask an Officer or Member yourself, to join your game and criticize an other one’s game play. False accusations may lead to decreasing your own behavior and Team Play points instead. How to increase points - If you’re behaving correctly for a long period of time (depending on the misbehavior), your points may be increased again, until you are back at 0 points. Table of points - This table will be used for indication. Each case of misbehave will be sentenced individually, because each behavior may have it’s own softening or hardening circumstances. So each sentence will usually be somewhere around these indication values, but may be lower or higher per case. Behavior Penalties 1st time / 2nd time Glitching -3 / -6 Hacks/Cheats BAN / BAN Leaving game (bailing) to avoid negative game-score -4 / -8 Disobey a direct order of an Officer, Admin/Member -10 / -30 Harassment of non-clan members -10 / -30 Harassment of other clan-members -20 / -40 Spamming (mail or website) -30 / -60 Violations of Server Rules not listed -25 / -50 *Wildcard* (2 or more Admins Required) -50 / -100 Team killing: By accident 0 / 0 By accident, but ‘you should have known better’ -5 / -10 On purpose -50 / -100 and prison, or kicked |
