costs more, but PC's have no trouble keeping up with nex-gen consoles - and maintenance is a non-issue with a PC - only needs a can of air now and then, but consoles are so sealed you void warrenty if you wanna clean them good. My first PS2 died of dust/heat pretty fast.

A high end PC competitive with a next gen console costs a lot more to maintain. Personally I don't play games on PC unless I can run it on max settings. That's expensive xD
I pretty much only play FPS/MMO/Arma on PC now anyways.
